Making Quality Dog Training More Accessible
At Paus-n-Train, we believe that people who are committed to learning and building a better relationship with their dog should have opportunities to access quality, evidence-based training.
Our 50% Community Scholarship was created to help individuals and families who would benefit from professional dog training but for whom the full cost of a training program may currently be a barrier.
Scholarship recipients receive 50% off the regular tuition for an eligible Paus-n-Train training program.
Who Is the Scholarship For?
Our Community Scholarship is intended for people who are genuinely committed to participating in their dog’s training but who may need some financial assistance to make that training possible.
We aren’t looking for perfect applications or professionally produced videos. We simply want to learn a little about you, your dog, and how participating in one of our training programs could make a difference for you.
Eligible Programs
The 50% Community Scholarship is currently available for:
Puppy Prep School
Give your puppy a strong start through positive early learning, socialization, confidence building, and foundational life skills.
Dog Manners
Build practical everyday skills including loose-leash walking, recall, polite greetings, settling, and better communication between you and your dog.
Scholarships apply to 50% of the regular tuition for the approved program. The recipient is responsible for the remaining 50% of tuition and any applicable taxes.
How the Application Works
We’ve kept the application process straightforward.
Step 1: Complete the Application Form
Tell us a little about yourself, your dog, and the program you’re interested in attending.
Step 2: Share Your Story by Video
As part of your application, we’ll ask you to submit a short video.
Your video does not need to be polished or professionally edited. A simple video recorded on your phone is perfect.
Tell us about your dog, what you hope to accomplish through training, and why receiving a Community Scholarship would be meaningful to you.
Step 3: Application Review
We’ll review your application and video together. Scholarships are awarded based on available spaces and funding, as well as the suitability of the requested program for you and your dog.
Step 4: Scholarship Offer
Successful applicants will receive information about their scholarship, available class options, their remaining tuition balance, and the next steps required to secure their place.
What We Ask in Return
Receiving a Community Scholarship is an opportunity to participate fully in one of our training programs at a significantly reduced cost.
We ask scholarship recipients to:
· Attend and actively participate in their scheduled classes.
· Practice the training skills between lessons.
· Treat instructors, other students, and dogs with kindness and respect.
· Communicate with us if circumstances change and you are unable to continue.
· Pay the remaining program balance according to the registration requirements.
Payment for the program is non-refundable once classes have begun.
Why We Created the Community Scholarship
Dog training isn’t simply about teaching a dog to sit, stay, or walk nicely on a leash.
Good training can improve communication, prevent problems from becoming more difficult, build confidence, strengthen relationships, and help dogs participate more successfully in everyday family and community life.
Cost shouldn’t always be the reason someone who is ready and willing to do that work can’t get started.
The Paus-n-Train 50% Community Scholarship is one small way we can help make professional, positive reinforcement training more accessible within our community.
