Agility Fundamentals with Kyla Workshop & Fun Match combo

Workshop Format

This workshop is people only and will be held in the Little Barn, followed by course walk practice in the agility field.

Dogs may be:

*Crated in the Little Barn if they can settle quietly, or

*Left in vehicles if they are comfortable doing so and owners have appropriate measures in place to keep them cool in warm weather.

Printed course maps will be provided for participants to make notes and follow along during the workshop.

Workshop Topics:

*Understanding your dog's line

*Handler path of motion

*Building connection between handler and dog

*Front, blind, and rear crosses

*Timing of verbal and body cues, including arm use

*Reward strategies

*Reading course maps

*Question and answer period

The workshop is open to everyone, with content geared primarily toward beginner and intermediate handlers.

Schedule:

9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Workshop

12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Lunch Break

Participants are welcome to stay if they have brought their dog or leave to pick up their dog before the afternoon session. Please bring your own lunch if remaining on site.

1:00 p.m. – Finish Fun Match

Workshop participants will receive individualized feedback on their runs during the Fun Match. End time will vary based on the number of entries.
